- What is Nagios?
- Nagios is an open source network monitoring and alerting system. It was originally designed for large-scale networks, but can be adapted for use on smaller networks. Nagios consists of three parts: Nagios Core - a command line server that monitors systems and generates alerts when they are not operating as expected. Nagios Plugins - a library of pre-programmed checks, alerts, and actions. These can be used to perform checks against the configuration, host, or network.
